1ºESO TASK

 

This is the final task of our students of 1º ESO (first year of secondary school). 

They have been working on a project called: THE OLYMPIC GAMES AND ANCIENT GREECE. 

They have studied this topic with their bilingual teachers of Geography and History, Music, Biology and Geology, and P.E.

TRIP TO EDINBURGH

It´s a pleasure to share this photograph with all of you. 41 pupils from 3th year of secondary school and 1ºbachillerato from Ibn Jaldun Highschool are spending a whole week in the capital city of Scotland. They are living with Scottish families; in the mornings, they attend to English classes and, in the afternoons, they participate in a wide range of activities. We are pretty sure they are taking advantage of this wonderful experience. The headmaster of the highschool together with other two teachers accompany them.

                              

8th MARCH

Con motivo del Día Internacional de la Mujer, 8 de marzo, los departamentos de Filosofía y Orientación de nuestro centro, organizaron una jornada para nuestras alumnas de procedencia inmigrante, un total de 30 chicas, más algunas alumnas de Antropología de 1º de bachillerato. Contamos también con una voluntaria de IESMALA. Durante un par de horas, todas ellas llevaron a cabo actividades lúdicas.

SAINT VALENTINE´S MARKET

The 14th of February, our pupils decided to celebrate Saint Valentine´s Day selling cookies, muffins, red carnations and other stuff on stands during the break. It was awesome! Congratulations EVERYBODY!

PEACE DAY

We´d like to share the following video with all of you, so you may have the opportunity to see the wonderful teenagers with have in our high-school. We enjoyed  and everybody behaved so well! We are so grateful with all students and teacher for their participation in the trek and race. Also some policemen helped with the traffic. 25th NOVEMBER

 

 

To celebrate the International Gender-Based Violence Day, students read a manifesto in Spanish and also in English. Besides, they were dressed in mauve and purple; they did something wih balloons, among other things. There were really good moments.

MANIFESTO

Today, the 25th of November, The International Day For The Elimination of Violence Against Women is celebrated.

 

This year, in Spain, 35 women have already died at the hands of their partners or expartners.

 

The students and teachers from Ibn Jaldún High-School  want to show our complete disagreement/rejection against violence, especially gender-based violence: violence against women cannot be tolerated and  we cannot be considered inferior human beings.

As teens, we want to say as it follows:

-         We want to fight against violence in our high-school and society.

-         Violence against women can be physical, sexual, economical or psychological.

-         We have to avoid daily violence so as not to become something ordinary.

-         We must stand with women who suffered violence.

-         We have to remember women and children who died because of gender violence.

-         We must say that we believe in a different society as a result of the change we are promoting.

 

THANKSGIVING DAY!

 

The fourth Thursday of November, teachers of Ibn Jaldun High-School 

celebrated Thanksgiving Day during the break. They had delicious carrot cake, 

autumn fruit and other snacks.
